FIRST STEPS
WHAT IS RECIPE ROUNDUP?
"Recipe Roundup" is a card game designed to teach others the basics of cooking. It comes with a built-in cookbook featuring global cuisines, the game introduces essential cooking skills in a simplified, easy-to-understand way. It’s a fast-paced, culturally enriching way to build confidence in the kitchen.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
For this project, the client asked us to develop a marketing campaign for their new card game. Our team created a brand and logo for the company. We also developed the designs for a website and extra merchandise to accompany the campaign.

MY ROLE
I served as a UI/UX designer in charge of developing the initial website prototype. I created the original sitemap and developed wireframes for the first webpages. I also assisted in design choices concerning color palette and typeface.
PROCESS
Color & Type
When we started, the client only had a vague color palette based on the cards they had already made. We knew immediately it needed a complete revamp. Each card type would need to be represented by a separate color. It was important for each of those colors to be distinct so there would be no room for confusion. A rainbow came across as too vibrant and childlike, so we decided on an off-rainbow palette. We added a lighter and darker neutral color to provide the contrast necessary for backgrounds and text. We wanted to continue conveying a more mature feel, yet still feel distinctly handmade and cozy. To facilitate this, we made Sidenote Variable our header typeface, coupled with Helvetica Neue.
WIREFRAMES
The client didn't want an extensive website; its main purpose was to promote digital sales. Since the website was meant to sell the game, all screens were used to show off the game and accompanying products. Interactive elements were mainly action buttons to incentivize spending.
